When the weather cools down, fashion heats up

As students at MCC enter the midpoint in the fall 2012 semester, each day on campus can feel like a monotonous blur of mid-term exams, algebraic equations, and psychology terminology.

However, inspiration can strike while strutting down the sidewalk toward the clock tower, or when walking through the coffee shop, or while skimming through literature at the library. Fashionable students have been spotted all over campus, donning the latest fall trends mixed with their
own personal style.

MCC student and Filmmaking major, Khaled Eldesouki, attributes his sense of style to his jet-setter way of life. “I have always considered my personal style to be cosmopolitan because I have lived in four different countries, and I learned how to fit my style into any place I moved to,” Eldesouki
said.

Psychology major Yesly Marquez, on the other hand, likes to keep her outfits simplistic and relaxed.
“I try to look nice while still feeling comfortable about what I’m wearing,” Marquez said, “It makes
me feel confident about myself.”

Students were caught wearing fall trends that are also appropriate for warm desert temperatures.

Anthony Muie, ESL major, mixes a cool tank top with dark wash denim jeans, leather moccasins, and tops his outfit off with a black fedora hat.

Chelsea Eubaks, Classical Studies major, was prepared for cooler morning weather when she was photographed wearing a layered striped cardigan over her denim shorts, black top, and tights.

ESL major Miki Kishimoto knows exactly what pieces flatters her body the best and what clothing is
season appropriate. “Since the weather has been cooler, I like kneehigh boots because they make my legs look thinner,” Kishimoto said. “I also like cardigans, duffle coats, long skirts, and sneakers too!”

Thunderbird fashionistas were also photographed wearing a lot of plaid, floral, and retro prints which
are also current fall trends.

Students paired denim jackets and lightweight cardigans over dresses, skirts, and jeans for the transition into cooler weather.
