MAPP introduces transition program from MCC to ASU

Many enrolled students at Maricopa Community Colleges have it in their list of goals to transfer to Arizona State University in the near future. A newly instituted “alliance”, called Maricopa- ASU Pathways (MAPP), has been put in place to make the deal even sweeter.
Although MAPP is a restricted partnership between Arizona State University and the 10 Maricopa Community Colleges, it is a very helpful and provides an advising bridge between the Maricopa Community Colleges and ASU.
MAPP is designed for specific majors that are available at both Maricopa Community Colleges and ASU.
There are several advantages that are very beneficial for MAPP students. These advantages include, guaranteed admission and tuition caps.
The tuition cap is extremely valuable; it permits the transferring student to pay the rate of tuition at ASU at the price it was when they signed their MAPP agreement.
Mesa Community College Academic Advisor, Dan Adams, says, “There is an agreement that has to be signed that says they have to complete their bachelor’s degree in five years.”
This allotted time can be divided up however the student chooses, save a maximum of three years at any Maricopa community Colleges.
The program is tuely a MAPP to success.
