Central AZ snuffs MCC

The Lady Thunderbird basketball team suffered a tough loss against Central Arizona College on Jan. 28.The Thunderbirds played a great game, but had a hard time competing with Central’s tight defense, taking a 93-65 beating.
Top scorers for MCC were Katrina Graham with 15 points, Briana Benjamin and Abby Ritz contributed with 11 points each.
Ritz also led the Thunderbirds in rebounds with eight. Prayer Branham had an impressive game, putting nine points on the scoreboard in the second half.
Other scorers for Thunderbirds include Vanna Moses, Callina Hurley, Sam Darley and Shaina Chafin.
The crowd cheered as Benjamin sunk a three-pointer in the first half, closing Central’s lead to seven points.
There were several other plays that caused the entire Thunderbird bench to rise to their feet to cheer on their team mates.
The Lady Thunderbirds have a great crowd. Some even brought posters to help spread the team spirit. Big cheers erupted from MCC’s men’s basketball team, showing their support of the Lady T-Birds.
