Dress for less; keep up with affordable fashion trends

It is that time of year again: Autumn! The leaves change colors and the air gets crisp which means sweaters, scarves, boots, and the famous fuzzy socks. Mesa does not get cold until about November, but one can still go shopping for these items. Being a college student and having a job, sometimes restricts the ability to shop for cute clothes at a reasonable price.

With bills to pay, prices at the mall within budget can be difficult to find, especially if one wants to stay stylish and follow trends.

This season’s trends are going to be very popular: emerald, leather, fall menswear and mid-century.

So, where can one shop for these trends without having to break our wallets?

There are several stores to consider; however, try to steer away from Forever 21.

Since it is a popular store, chances are greater of encountering people wearing similar pieces to those that can be found there. These stores aren’t just limited to women, because the sales for guys are just as amazing!

The first store to consider is H&M. Their straight leg jeans are $9.95 which is comparable to those of Forever 21, but better quality! The long sleeve shirts in their basics section can be bought for $12.95, while thick-knit sweaters can be had for $14.95.

The second store is Cotton On. Cotton On is always having sales online and in the store. Infinity scarves, which have become a popular trend in the autumn and winter, are sold for $5 as well as some of the regular and oversized tees. For the gentlemen, tanks and tee shirts are also sold for $5. Who wouldn’t want to take advantage of the deals?

The next store is the thrift store; however, this store at times can be a hit or miss because they are always bringing in new items every week.

The last stores are Ross and Marshall’s. These stores can also be a hit or miss in certain areas, but most of the items are great deals. From designer items to lesser known brands, the prices they offer are ones not to pass up!

Whether you decide to follow the trends for this season or decide to stick to your sense of style, these stores are ones to keep a look out for when wanting amazing deals! Stay cozy this season!

Trend for Less #1: Emerald

This color has been popular since Oz the Great and Powerful came out earlier this year. In the green toned family, it compliments most skin tones from clothes and jewelry to eye shadow and nail polish, this gorgeous color can be worn anytime.

Trend for Less #2: Leather

Those who are searching for something a little adventurous might find it with this style.

Whether it is a skirt or leggings, this piece can be transitioned to a day to night look.

Trend for Less #3: Mid-Century

The inspired clothing is brought to this modern age with its own feel bringing back styles that everyone can enjoy. Alice in Wonderland’s pocket watch from the white rabbit is a popular accessory as well as shoes from the ’50s era.

Trend for Less #4: Fall Menswear

Blazers, Trousers, Double-Breasted Coats; Oh my! Have a little fun with the menswear trend; buy a blazer, make it pink.

Trousers make me think of Jane by Design and how Jane (the main character) made trousers fit her style but still being fashionable!

Let’s not forget about the oxford shoes. One of the defining aspects of this trend is a vintage feel, for those who love antique styles.
