Haunted houses ready to spook souls before Halloween

The scariest time of the year is right around the corner, Halloween. The haunted houses, frightening corn mazes, and Halloween festivals filled with fun are all around. Rawhide’s Doomtown “Revenge of the Unwanted” located at Rawhide on 5700 W. Northloop road in Chandler, is perfect way to scare up some thrills in the Wild West town.

Rawhide offers its customers a Halloween show performed the Rawhide Roughriders, take a ride on the Train of Terror, and a Haunted Hike. Also, Rawhide offers two terrifying haunted houses, The Crypt and The Asylum.

Scott Adams, 19, and friends, decided to check out the haunted houses and put them to the test. “I just got done going through The Crypt, I don’t get scared easily but I was caught off guard a few times,” Adams said.

Rachel Lin, 23, chose to face Chainsaw Mayhem. “I’m surprised I actually went in, I’m such a baby and get scared easily. I’m the one you hear screaming left and right, even if I’m surrounded by my macho men guy friends,” Lin said while laughing.

Tickets for the haunted houses cost $13 for a single house and $17 for both houses. For the last weekends, Oct. 28-29 and Nov. 1 Doomtown’s events start at 5:30 p.m. to 10 p.m. and on Oct. 30-31 will be from 5:30 p.m. to 10:30 p.m.

Another family fun event is Schnepf Farm’s Pumpkin and Chili Party. The farm is located at 24810 S. Rittenhouse road. in Queen Creek.

Schnepf Farms opens at 10 a.m. and is open till 9 p.m. on Thursdays and Sundays, and open till 10 p.m. on Fridays and Saturdays for the entire month of October.

For $14, the public can enjoy activities of hay rides, carousel rides, a petting barn, pig races, and live music. In addition to the celebrity corn maze cut into the picture of the famous boxer Muhammad Ali.

Take a ride on Arizona’s only gravity rollercoaster or a train ride that turns spooky when the sun goes down.

Another attraction to check out is Fear Farm on 99th Ave. between McDowell and Thomas road. For $19 the public can have access to four haunted houses, and a $24 ticket, customers get access to all the haunted houses and the corn maze.

Fear Farm brings fright with Terror in the Corn, and the houses of Chainsaw Mayhem, The Asylum, Carnevil, and Apocalypse.

For all the scare seekers, there are many great attractions awaiting to haunt you.
