The football players have their field, the journalists have their paper, but in the works is an academic journal for MCC students to display their talents.”The journal, just like any other academic journal, is a publication that is peer reviewed,” said Suhail Rahim, the founder of the journal.

Any students enrolled at MCC can make a submission to the journal.

“If a student in the art department who does still photography and he takes a photo, that would be an opportunity to have their photo published,” Rahim said.

Though, the journal is not simply for writers and photographers.

“For example, a student in communications, their COM225 class, they have to give a speech and they did an outstanding speech and it’s filmed. Well, that’s a showcase of student excellence,” Rahim said.

Rahim has attracted other students to join his editorial board. Richard Gadiner is one of them.

“I want to get involved in something else . I want to build on something,” Gadiner said.

The first edition of the journal is slated to come out next semester.
