Living in reality with delusional people

The View

We all live in a world we choose to see; we all have different perspectives.

Yet, through different eyes we are all usually capable of discovering the truth by sorting through conflicting ideas and compromising on commonly held beliefs.

However, have you ever come into contact with someone who seems to be living in his own world – a world devoid of all reality in which he suffers from delusions of grandeur, perhaps even believing himself to be famous and much more influential than he actually is?

This emotionally immature creature masquerades through life with a superiority complex so unrealistic that it makes dealing with him, whether through his work or personal relationships, nearly impossible.

The feelings of others’ do not matter to him.

Only the constant feeding of his ultimately starving ego is what nourishes his irrational appetite for attention.

People like this exaggerate their personal abilities while degrading others’ because in actuality they are deeply insecure and lost without direction.

Examples of individuals like these can be found anywhere in our society – from high functioning government officials, to the lowly peddler on the street.

The afflicted person will often strategically attack those who stand near him.

In an effort to establish self-worth he will enact schemes such as a smear campaign to delegitimize your credibility while simultaneously gaining ignorant support from others.

Instead of falling victim to these bullies, ascend above their anger, envy, and hate.

Ignore them.
