Mellow Mushroom provides cheap food and fine beers

When thinking of Mill Avenue, thoughts of countless bars, drunken college students and the Mellow Mushroom come to mind.Unlike some of the pricier restaurants on Mill, the Mellow Mushroom is economical for everyone, even broke college students.
The Mellow Mushroom was opened in early March and already is known for their crazy pizza creations and fine beer selection.
The appetizers start at $2.99 for some delicious garlic bread to $8.79 for a giant Portobello mushroom that could be shared with friends.
One thing the Mellow Mushroom prides themselves on is their pizza creations.
You can order an $11.99 10-inch Mega Veggie or go with a 16-inch Mighty Meaty for $25.29.
They also offer other food items such as calzones, hoagies and salads. With more than three pages of beer choices, there is a drink for everyone.
They carry everything from Tecate, Stella Artois to the good ol’ Bud Light.
Besides having good food and a good selection of drinks, the atmosphere is appropriately mellow.
The restaurant serves daily lunch specials and half-price drinks as well.
As you walk in, you’re greeted by a host or hostess, with shirts saying “Baked since 1974”.
They seat you basically wherever you want to sit. The window seats have the added attraction of people watching.
Waiters and waitresses give you just enough breathing room, always checking up on you but not every two minutes, which I’m a big fan of.
Whether a poor college student needs to fill his stomach after a busy school day or a guy just tries to impress a girl on a first date, the Mellow Mushroom is the place to go.
It’s open Sundays through Wednesdays from 10:30 a.m. to 2 a.m. and Thursdays to Saturdays from 10:30 a.m. to 4 a.m.
