The Mesa Community College T-Birds took on the Pima Community College Aztecs on Sept. 20.

During the first half of the game, Aztecs player John Henson scored off of a penalty kick with 38:13 left in the half.

It was a strenuous first half for the T-Birds, but with 5:35 left in the first half, T-Birds sophomore midfielder Michael Markette scored by a break-away pass from teammate and freshman forward Robert Bechtel, leaving the first half of the game with a score of 2-1 in favor of the Aztecs.

The T-Birds did not come out with a victory after the game against Pima.

The final score was 5 points for the Aztecs and 1 point for the T-Birds

T-Bird’s freshman defender Julio Becerra said, “We need to practice on our lack of concentration.”

“(If) the team put in more motivation and hard work into their time at practice it will reflect into their games,” said freshman forward Charles LaPose

Head coach Drew Guarneri said, “We need to work on finishing chances, winning the ball, defending. You name it we need to work on it.”
