Paranormal Activity’ scariest movie of the year

Vickie Rodriguez

In recent times filmmakers make horror flicks look like they were recorded from a home video camera in order to scare most people. Paramount Pictures decided to go with the same theme for Paranormal Activity to create a sense of reality.

The movie is based on a young couple, Micah Sloat and Katie Featherson, living in what seems to be a haunted house in San Diego.

As the movie progresses, we find that evil spirits haunting the couple don’t come with the house, but is actually a demon that has been following Katie since she was a child.

At first the story starts off mellow with a happy couple that seems to be living a normal everyday life as Micah jokes around with his girlfriend Katie.

At first, I wasn’t impressed with the level of horror and thought that the movie was moving quite slow.

As I saw the late night scenes that were being recorded while the couple slept I changed my mind.

A video camera recorded strange noises and paranormal activity while the couple slept, in the middle of the night, sometimes even during the day.

They say that horror movies are make believe, but isn’t the unknown a little too real for all of us?

The opening and closing credits seem to make this film a true story, but I am still skeptical.

Paranormal Activity is definitely worthy of the scariest movie of the year award.

Some people say that there is no movie out there that can scare them enough, but I bet they won’t be able to sleep at night after watching this one.
