Women deserve equality

Julija Kaselyte

People have equal rights, but the majority of us don’t understand that this applies to women as well as men.

To be honest, it is hard to be a woman in this world.

Career wise, if a man can make it, then what would be the reason for a woman not to make it?

In my field I constantly meet men who think they are accomplished, important, and amazing when it is not precisely true; actually, not even close.

They still treat women like crap and show that they are better than them.

Pardon me, not better. The best.

But in all seriousness, men seem to be jealous haters when they find out a woman has success.

A lot of men think a woman should stay at home, raise children, cook, wash dishes and so on.

Should I keep adding to this list?

Wait, where did this concept come from?

Who said a woman has to deal with all such domestic stuff by herself and have no social life, no friends, no break?

Women do it all, they are expected to look good, to be in excellent shape; to be successful as while also taking care of everything at home, while men are still expected to pay the bills.

We go home and our work doesn’t end.

Women still have to fight for equality.

And men always compete with women instead of being more respectful and actually helping them.

In actuality, women are often victims at the hands of men.

Women who don’t have to deal with domestic violence are lucky.

Because a lot of them do.

After centuries of ongoing discussions, perhaps it is about time to finally admit gender differences (both physical and spiritual), and connect to work together.

The fact that we are different doesn’t necessarily mean that men are superior.

However, if a man needs help, because of something he can’t deal with, who does he ask for help? A woman.

Men exploit women like a never-ending resource.

It would be better if we put our energy into fostering unity, not disturbance.

We do this by having equal pay between men and women in the work place, taking equal responsibility in the home, and having mutual  respect for each other.

Men should try to be less jealous; women can be just as successful as them.

Nobody loses with equality.
