The women’s tennis team continued its dominating performance against Pima Community College on March 30. The Thunderbirds took control with a 9-0 victory over the Aztecs.
The T-birds have now acquired four victories in 9-0 fashion.
The team has only lost once all year, and looks strong heading into regional championships.
“We have a very strong top six lineup. On top of a strong top six, we have several alternates that can compete,” said Jessica Meinhart.
Despite the one loss, the team stayed strong as they prepared for the rest of the season.
“We lost to Eastern, but we’re going strong. If anything, that loss helped us prepare by giving us adversity to fight through,” Meinhart added.
Mesa only has three matches left before the regional championships.
The Thunderbirds host Scottsdale Community College on April 6 and finish the regular season against Glendale Community College on April 8.
Regional championships begin April 19.
They then hope to qualify for the NJCAA championships in May.
