Indra Paola Peláez announced as Mesa Community College’s Dean of Enrollment Services
Mesa Community College announced Indra Paola Peláez as the new Dean of Enrollment Services that will provide leadership and oversight to student enrollment services, starting April 29, 2024.
The college previously considered five candidates for the role of dean of enrollment services.
A statement to MCC employees stated that since October 2023, MCC has been seeking someone to fill the dean of enrollment position . The official search for candidates was said to start in the spring of 2024.
An open forum took place in February at Mesa Community College’s Southern & Dobson campus where candidates answered questions from the audience. Two months later, Peláez was selected for the position.
According to MCC, The dean of enrollment services reports to the vice president of student affairs and provides visionary leadership to strategic enrollment management as well as develop and lead programs and services that ensure access, sustain educational progress, and support high levels of student achievement within a Guided Pathways framework.
“Peláez brings to Mesa Community College a distinguished career marked by visionary leadership, profound dedication to student success, and a proven track record of excellence in higher education administration,” said a recent MCC statement on Peláez’s hiring.
“With extensive experience in fostering student engagement, improving enrollment management strategies, and championing diversity and inclusion initiatives, Peláez is poised to make significant contributions to our institution,” added the statement.
Peláez is expected to begin her role as Dean of Enrollment Services effective April 29, 2024.
Mesa Community College was unable to provide an interview with Peláez. According to MCC’s Office of Institutional Advancement, like all new employees, Peláez is attending orientations, completing mandatory training, and meeting her new team.
