Legend’s View: Debates, pick the issues not the men

As Election Day comes closer, the debate season is in full swing, and Obama, Biden, Romney and Ryan are weighing in for the main event.

What we can take away is the knowledge of what the biggest issues facing the United States are, because it’s safe to say that we already know none of these men can fix them.

Watching the debates is not important for picking which candidate you will vote for, because quite frankly, most people have already chosen who they are voting for in this election.

The important thing in the debates are the questions the moderator asks. The questions asked of the candidates in the debate is a good way to take a temperature check on which issues are of real
importance.

In a world that is changing every day at a mile a minute, staying on top of what’s going on in the world around you becomes both more difficult and far more important, and while watching a debate won’t make you a political scholar, it will definitely give you some insight into
what’s going on.

Both of these candidates claim they are looking to fix the economy, and they speak very eloquently about it. But listening to them debate the issue will show that neither truly have a plan that can repair this sinking ship.

All they seem to have are rhetorics, innuendos and many insults to shoot at one
another. Even with the third party debate, it seems the only thing those candidates can do is poke as many holes as possible in the plans of the two mainstream candidates.

At the end of the day, both candidates are moderates; both candidates are millionaires; and both candidates are liars.

If the issues are given at least a fair and balanced look, you can know what they are lying to you about.
