MCC encourages students to explore resource centers

Have you ever wanted to know where to find more information on grants or work study programs?
Well the information is not as hard to find as it seems, if you have the knowledge of how to locate what is desired.
Work-study programs are jobs that students on financial aid can apply for when submitting an application to receive student loans and grants. Students can inquire about these opportunities by going to the Career Services center on campus.
The Kirk Student Center also boasts a wide variety of services, such as parking passes and student identification cards.
The MCC website is also a helpful tool in assisting students who want to find out information in a specific area. These areas include counseling, academic support, degrees and employment services.
Although the sitemap on the web is informative, there are also many places on campus where help can be obtained.
There are offices for financial aid, careers and student affairs. The library features a writing center, a computer lab for research and of course, books and databases.
One of the best ways to locate information on campus is still to ask someone. There are people across the college grounds that are available to help in any student endeavors.
However, if there is no one around when needed, there are community boards posted around campus to assist students and faculty alike.
The boards have everything from odd jobs to community service events.
On occasion, students can locate tutors and study groups from these posts and typically they are offered for free or at a low cost.
The Learning Enhancement Center also offers free tutoring in most academic subjects and other services to support learning and teaching efforts college-wide.
