The Mesa T-Birds Men’s and Women’s teams squared off in Thatcher, Ariz. on Jan. 14 against Eastern Arizona College Monsters.  Coming up with a win, the Men’s team held a 23 point lead by the end of the game that ended 95-72.  With 42 rebounds to the Monsters’ 26 an element to their success, the T-Birds exerted control over the ball.

Another remarkable statistic of the game was the 60 percent three-point field goal success rate for Mesa.  Guard Khari Holloway was the player that scored the most points for Mesa, with 34 overall on the board, and made all four of the three-pointers he attempted.

The lady T-Birds struggled in their performance against the Monsters that night, leading to a loss with a close final score of 57-53.  Turnovers contributed to the conclusion; the lady T-Birds finished the game with 23, compared to EAC’s 15.  Forward Kylie Herd finished the game with 34 points for the team, though it wasn’t enough to get the win over the Monsters.
