red, the golf team certainly has not had a problem hitting on the green.Both the men’s and women’s teams are No. 1 in the ACCAC.

The men’s team is currently sharing first place with South Mountain Community College, followed closely.

Keeping the men in check the women’s team has already earned two first and second place finishes this season.

“Monique Breault is third in the conference scoring with one first place finish and three second place finishes,” coach John Guerrero said.

Breault also had her first hole in one at the Lady Thunderbird Classic at Dobson Ranch Golf Course on a par 3 the first day of the tournament in February.

At the beginning of the season, the teams focused on South Mountain as their major rival, but have since risen to the challenge of competeing at the same level.

According to Todd Bolser, Sports Information Director, Gavin Kwon has stepped up and been a leader on the men’s team.

“Gavin is fourth in the conference overall and he has two top six finishes so far this season,” Guerrero said.

MCC has never won a national championship in golf but earlier in the season Andrew Augustyniak said, “Our number one goal is to win the national title.”

Monique Breault is currently swinging an average of 80.625 which makes her second overall in the conference.

Close behind Nikki Picallo is keeping up with an average of 82.325 and is currently tied for fourth place overall.
