BlackBerry is putting a new phone out that’s far different in appearance from the BlackBerry Curves and Pearls.

It’s called the BlackBerry Flip 8220, which some in the cell phone industry are calling a “clam shell phone.”

The BlackBerry Pearl Flip 8220 will be a quad-band GSM Smartphone with the same QWERTY key pad as other BlackBerrys.

However, it has a sleek chrome finish frame that features two high resolution LCD screens.

The Flip 8220 will also be operating on the newest BlackBerry OS.

One advantage in having both screens is that it will allow users to view incoming emails and texts without opening the phone.

Instead of a phone pad, the Flip 8220 will have a SureType keypad, according to phonescoop.com.

Some other features of the phone are the 2 megapixel camera with video capture, Wi-Fi, stereo Bluetooth, a memory card slot, and push email.

The BlackBerry Pearl Flip 8220 has not been announced for any specific carriers at this time.
