Obama’s failed elitist agenda sparks discontent for students

I will be the first to admit that I didn’t support Barack Obama in the election, yet when he was sworn in, I was optimistic about his agenda and I was rooting for his success.
However, now a little more than a year into his term, we see what a mistake Obama was and is for this country.
Obama has failed in his attempt to have government take over healthcare. He has failed to in his attempt for the government to fix our economy and he has failed in his attempt for government to bring jobs back home.
Yet, the president and his socialist agenda will not go down without a fight. With healthcare on its deathbed, the Obama Administration has brought in another government program, which he claims will fix problems in our country.
How many people know that President Obama has approved legislation in the Senate which will take over the student loan industry and grow our already bloated government?
The Obama plan calls for the Department of Education to go from its current 20 percent share of student-loans to 80 percent by July 2010 when private lenders will be forbidden from making government-guaranteed loans.
Obama doesn’t want to take over the whole student loan industry, just 80 percent. His plan increases Federal government regulations which will make it nearly impossible for private industries to lend to students.
Just another example of the Obama immaturity and elitist agenda he has forced down our throats.
Under the direction of Speaker Nancy Pelosi, a party-line vote approved this socialist program in the House of Representatives.
The Student Aid and Fiscal Responsibility Act (SAFRA) now sits in the Senate’s Health, Education, Labor, and Pension (HELP) Committee; if passed through this committee and the Senate, this will be another government program that will raise the Federal deficit and limit choices among consumers.
Senator John McCain has made no position as a ranking member of the HELP committee. I encourage EVERY student to call his office (202) 224-2235 and voice your opposition to the legislation that will hurt America and will hurt our students!
