Rough October for Lady T-Birds

Ben Garcia

The effort displayed on the court by the T-Birds volleyball team has not shown the results in the win column head coach Brent Martindale and his ladies would like but nonetheless, this year has still yielded some bright spots.

On Oct. 10, the T-Birds lost to the visiting Vaqueros of Central Arizona Community College. The Vaqueros, led by head coach Matt Dyck and his big’s Katie Feemster, 6’3″, and Diamond Glaspie, 6’1″, took control of the game quickly by winning the first two matches.

A strong effort by the T-Birds in the third match gave them an early lead. As they looked to maintain control of the match, the Vaqueros would not give up the match easily. In the end, the T-Birds were able to hold off a late attack by the Vaqueros to win the third match.

The Vaqueros jumped out to an early lead in the third match and never let down. The Vaqueros ended up winning the game three matches to one.Moving forward for the T-Birds, coach Martindale said his girls will continue to play hard, like there is no tomorrow.
