Stay firmly grounded in reality, keep a healthy balance between work, fun

We are just entering the heart of the semester. It’s week six, the students who are dropping have dropped, and the ones who are in it for the long haul are in full on school mode.

When the amount of homework per class rises in the middle of the semester all students have to buckle down, stop partying, leave the playstation off and get those assignments turned in.

For those students who also maintain employment that rise in the amount of homework means an even bigger dip in their amount of free time.

But as the workload gets bigger and school and work start to seam like the most important things in the world, it becomes even more important for students to stay firmly grounded in reality.

School is important, if you are reading this it was important enough for you at very least to pay for class and show up to campus.

Keeping those grades up might even mean a couple all nighters studying for a test or finishing a paper.

But if you find yourself stressing all the time, and up all night pouring over textbooks, floor littered with red bull cans you might be pushing it too far.

Working is important too. You don’t want to be homeless, we all have got to eat, something has got to pay those bar tabs and we all want to be in the best possible financial shape once we graduate.

However as important as making the “big bucks” is it’s not worth it at the risk of your health.

Take time to relax, hang out with friends, and do things you enjoy.

Don’t sabotage yourself academically or socially.
