Recently released convicted sex offender, Brian K. Downing, may be a potential threat to females on this campus and other MCCCD colleges according to Mesa Police Sex Crimes detectives and Maricopa County Probation.

Downing, who previously sexually assaulted three college aged females in Arizona that were strangers to him later moved to Oregon where he sexually assaulted two additional females who were also strangers to him, one of the victims being 16 years old at the time.

Later he was arrested in Arizona on a parole violation. After a five year hold, he was recently released.

“County attorney and local detectives are concerned that he will reoffend before he goes back to Oregon.” said Steve Corich, Commander of the MCCCD Department of Safety.

Downing is described as a White male, 5′ 8″ tall, 175 lbs., with brown hair and brown eyes.

“This subject has no business on campus and any sighting of him should be immediately reported to Public Safety at (480) 461-7046.” Corich said.
