Why is legal Mary Jane such a big deal

Kristina Haney

Let’s be honest. We all know someone who has smoked pot, or we have even done it ourselves.

It makes you feel good and often has other effects such as helping you sleep better or ease pain for a medical issue.

It’s a natural product that can be grown by basically anyone and it can actually help people in ways more than just medically.

But why is it such a big deal to make it legal?

Alcohol was illegal at one point, and after the prohibition, the boozers were able to get their fix whenever they wanted.

I personally believe that marijuana is probably the safest drug that anyone can take for any sort of ailment.

Literally no one has died from a marijuana overdose.

No one.

Sharks kill more people than weed.

Alcohol and weed tend to have the same effects as well.

They both make you feel good for a shortened period of time, and the more you consume it, the stronger the effect.

I’ve seen videos of people with conditions that stop them from breathing correctly, and with one hit of their joint, they can breathe just like a normal person.

The obvious issue with marijuana is that the most common way to consume it is to smoke it, so people with asthma or general breathing issues may have a hard time with this.

There are other ways to consume it though; edibles are a big thing for people who can’t smoke and for those who really have a hard time with consuming things, you can buy cannabis infused olive oils and sodas.

It doesn’t matter what you call the product: cannabis, marijuana, Mary Jane, reefer, pot, herb.

I don’t think anyone on this planet can say that they had a life threatening experience with smoking. It really just makes you thirsty and hungry, which is a natural feeling.

I’m not saying that it is for everyone, but there are some conditions that people have that may not be able to be controlled or sustained by regular medication.

It isn’t a chemical, so it doesn’t break the body down, as does alcohol.

So why do people see it as such a bad thing? Maybe it’s because our parents were a part of the hippie culture and it made everyone a little more “open?” Or maybe because it really is just unknown.

Either way, I think that everyone should make their own opinion about the product. If you don’t like it, you don’t have to use it, just like alcohol.

Let’s be honest, the marijuana dispensaries are the nation’s best and most successful small businesses and if it were allowed to be legalized, it may help our failing economy.
