Basketball teams work hard over break

While on winter break, Mesa Community College Men’s and Women’s basketball teams were still hard at work.  The Women’s basketball team went 4-3 since the break with an appearance in the Bill Culver Memorial Classic in which they went 2-1  .On Saturday January 3 the team started of the New Year with a win over Midland College by a score of 61-51.  The Women’s team is set to face Cochise College at 5:30p.m. January 21 in the Theo Heap Gym at MCC.

On the other side of things, the Men basketball team went 5-2 with an appearance in the Fiesta Bowl Junior College Shootout and made a run for the title but came up short to San Bernardino Community College 65-59 on Monday December 29.  To start off the New Year the men’s team started with a tough loss to South Plains College 68-64 on January 3.  Coming up next for the men’s team is Cochise College at 7:30p.m. January 21 in the Theo Heap Gym at MCC.
