Celebrate student’s unique accomplishments at district-wide ceremonies

Maricopa County Community College District will hold convocation ceremonies from May 1 to May 6, which are gatherings that will offer a culturally and socially relevant celebration of a student’s unique accomplishments that have led to their graduation from any of the 10 MCCCD colleges.

The convocation ceremonies are separate from official graduation commencement ceremonies held at students’ specific college.

There will be eight separate ceremonies throughout the Central Valley, celebrating community members who are from various racial and ethnic backgrounds, LGBTQ+, veterans, foster youth, and those with disabilities.

The ceremonies are free to attend, with entertainment specific to the group being honored to happen at each event.

Students can register for a ceremony, and indicate how many guests they plan to bring, on MCCCD’s website

Family and friends of celebrated students are welcome to attend and do not need to individually register. Faculty and staff are also encouraged to attend the ceremonies, and can register here.
