Coyotes slip pass T-Birds

In a close battle, that was fought hard by the women’s soccer team for Mesa, the Thunderbirds fell to the Chandler- Gilbert Coyotes 1-2.

The T-Birds trailed most of the night 1-0, after the Coyotes scored with 39:33 left in the first half.

The score did not change throughout most of the game until Mesa scored on a head-butt by Emily Schmuckler, with 9:50 left in the game.

This gave the fans something to cheer about, as this was the first goal of the night for the T-Birds.

As quickly as the TBirds tied the game, the Coyotes scored again less than three minutes later.

The T-Birds got plenty of opportunities to score, frequently making shot attempts.

However, they just could not make it happen.

“I don’t want to talk about it,” said Coach Guarneri, summing up the feelings of the team and those in attendance.

The ladies of Mesa played with a lot of heart.

The Lady T-Birds finished the 2012 regular season with an 8-9-1 record overall.
