Despite close first and third sets, the Thunderbirds volleyball team suffered another loss on Oct.18, this time to the visiting Eastern Arizona Gila Monsters.
The Lady T-Birds started the first set strong, keeping a close lead on Eastern Arizona.
The Gila Monsters eventually took the first set with a score of 25-22.
After taking a lead of 4-1 early on in the second set, the T-Birds struggled to keep the lead, and the Gila Monsters dominated the set wining 25-9.
The Gila Monsters, lead by head coach Shari Kay, took an early lead in the third and final set.
Eventually, the T-Birds pulled it within three, but it was Eastern Arizona that came away with the 25-20 win, sweeping the T-Birds three matches to none.
Looking ahead, T-Birds head coach Brent Martindale said his team will continue to work on little things and stay positive going into the 2013 season.
Their final match was against Phoenix Oct.27.
