Women’s basketball team storms into National Tournament

Despite a 11-20 regualar season, the MCC women’s basketball team was in Peoria, Illinois on March 18 as they prepared for their first game of the NJCAA Division II National Tournament.The Lady T-birds earned the trip by capturing the ACCAC crown after a convincing 72-57 championship game victory on the road over Chandler-Gilbert Community College.
To get to the championship game, MCC had to knock off a tough Scottsdale team and did so with a thrilling 66-64 win.
The Lady T-birds have won three consecutive games and have a high level of confidence going into their first round playoff matchup against Illinois Central College on March 19.
