Get to know MCC’s AD Jeff Fore

Kevin Holloway

Jeff Fore is the Athletic Director for Mesa Community College. A graduate of Arkansas State University, Fore came to MCC after many ventures in coaching basketball. He got his start in coaching at Ark. St.

Then he went on to coach at Central Missourim abd then moved on to Clark College.

After those coaching jobs, he went on to coach the Men’s Country team of Kuwait. A team similiar to the U.S. Olympic team.

Afterward he returned to the States, and helped open Valley Vista High School in Surprise. Following, he came to MCC.

Fore is ecstatic about this year’s teams. They have the potential to go far in rankings, and to reach the National tournaments which would bring in more money for scholarships. In turn bringing more talented players to MCC, making it a little easier to keep winning teams for now and in the future.

Starting the school’s first Booster club is just one of the many things he has helped put together. With plans to help increase fan attendance to games, work on the ageing facilities, and put MCC at the peak of NJCAA sports rankings.

Whether, it’s giving advice to new students or giving some words of encouragement to student athletes, he said, “Don’t be afraid to ask, if you don’t know something.”

He recognizes the problem with drugs in High School and College sports, and is working with coaches and players alike to increase awareness about them. He said, “Players have to do the right thing when approached or tempted by such.”

Another way to show the dedication of keeping MCC student athletes on the fields instead of on drugs and steroids, which is a problem of its own sweeping across America.
