Show us the money

Floyd “Money” Mayweather proved he wasn’t washed up with a victory over Juan Manuel Marquez. The retired boxer came off his 21 month vacation, and looked as if he hadn’t missed any training. Unlike most athletes that would come back from a long break from boxing. From the first bell Marquez came out chasing Mayweather, just trying to punch.

It seemed that every punch he threw was countered by a much quicker punch delivered by Mayweather.

By the second round Marquez had landed less than 15 percent of punches thrown,. Mayweather became comfortable; landing over half of his shots at Marquez.

A little over a minute into the second round, Floyd landed a left hand right, and Marquez went down for eight count.

Marquez shook it off, and recovered by the third round.

Mayweather stole the points, and the show. He was winning over the very fans and critics who laughed at the mere thought of him returning to the ring.

Marquez landed 69 out of the 583 thrown attempts. Floyd landed 290 out of 493, a 59 percent.

Whomever wins between Manny Pacquiao and Miguel Cotto will have a payday when meeting Mayweather.
