The smart money is on Romney

Isaac Metcalf

On Nov. 6, we will decide who will lead our country for the next four years.

It is important that we have a president that will right the sinking ship that is the American economy.

That’s why Mitt Romney is the man for the job.

He has a great track record for bringing businesses back from the verge of bankruptcy, and making them wildly successful through his private equity firm, Bain Capital.

Companies such as Burger King, Domino’s Pizza, The Sports Authority, and Staples are just a few that have had support from Bain Capital.

Now, fixing the economy is not the only part of being president of the United States.

However, it is far-and-away the biggest issue in this election.

It will be the biggest factor in who the American people elects, or re-elects, as the president.

The unemployment rate has been above 8 percent since February 2009.

Mitt Romney knows a thing or two about employing people, whereas President Obama has never held a private sector job in his life, much less a leader in any sort of private sector business, so Romney  plans to fix this in a drastic way.

Another important aspect is handling foreign relations.

Romney has made it clear that he will stand up and not apologize to our enemies.

We all know how well appeasement worked out (or didn’t) with Neville Chamberlain and Adolf Hitler.

Romney will draw lines in the sand with Iran’s nuclear program because they have devoted themselves to wipe Israel off the map.

These people cannot and will not be reasoned with, and therefore, a tough stand is necessary to avoid an all-out war in the Middle East.

Our current president is completely inept and we need a new direction for this country.

Romney may also be the most squeaky-clean candidate to ever run for president in the last 50 years.

The only thing anyone has on him is that he put a dog in a carrier on a vacation and he might  have given someone an unwanted haircut almost 50 years ago.

Should that really stop him from leading us back to prosperity?
