College Incident Report
Jan. 13-25Theft: On Jan. 13 at noon. a work-study student reported the theft of her purse from the PE Group Activities Office. The purse was taken from a desk in an unsecured office by person(s) unknown. The purse was later found in a nearby trash container and the victim reported only cash had been taken. Investigation continues.
Agency Assist: On Jan. 20 at 1:05 p.m. MCC campus police officers assisted Mesa PD in locating and arresting a student wanted for a felony offense.
Intoxicated Subject: On Jan. 21 at 12:38 p.m. campus police officers responded to the Cashier’s lobby regarding a subject disturbance. The subject was extremely intoxicated. He was identified as a current MCC student. Officers were able to contact the subject’s wife and she responded to the college to pick him up. The incident report was forwarded to the Dean of Student Affairs.
Theft: On Jan. 22 at 4 p.m. a student reported the theft of three books from his backpack . He left his bag unattended in the area of Grounds for Thought in the Kirk Student Center. Follow-up investigation by a campus police officer led to the identification of a possible suspect. Efforts are underway to locate and arrest the suspect.
Agency Assist: On Jan. 25 at 9 a.m. MCC campus police officers assisted Mesa Police detectives in locating and arresting a student wanted for a felony offense.
Subjects Disturbing: On Jan. 27 at 12:02 pm MCC campus police officers and Mesa PDresponded to the EF building on a report of several subjects attempting to engage in a fight with an MCC student. Upon police approach the subjects fled campus to the north and were apprehended by Mesa Police officers. The subjects were identified as non-student gang members from West Phoenix and were banned from returning to campus in the future.
Trespass: On Jan. 31 at 2:08 p.m. a juvenile was arrested by a campus police officer for trespassing. The subject had been arrested on campus in November for theft of a cell phone and banned from the college. The subject was later released to a parent.
Theft from Vehicle: On Jan. 27 at 2 p.m. a student reported that person(s) unknown had entered his car, that was parked in lot C and attempted to pry the stereo from his dashboard. Investigation continues.
