After hours delivery service caters to East Valley

Two years ago local business owners, Gerson Cedil- los and Maddie Garney opened Nighttime Nosh, a late night convenience store delivery service in Tempe.
Cedillos and Garney offer a wide variety of items on their menu from alcohol and tobacco products to candy and microwavable pizzas.
“We have expanded our beer and wine menu to include craft, local and seasonal selections that many customers wouldn’t expect us to carry,” Cedillos said. “In addition, we are always receiving feedback from our regular customers, and we try to cater to as many as possible. Where else can you get Morningstar Farms Veggie Corn Dogs and Four Peaks Peach Ale delivered to your house at 1 a.m.?”
Cedillos said that he and Garney had thought about opening their own business for years, and over the course of their travels they discovered similar delivery services in different parts of the country.
“We both are night owls, and we thought it would be a good opportunity to open a business that catered to the late night crowd in the East Valley as well as provide a service that will keep drunk drivers off the road,” Cedil- los said.
Since opening, Cedillos and Garney said that certain expectations about who their customer base might be has changed in the past two years.
“Our first night open was Wednesday, August 29 2012.Initially we thought our service would cater to mostly college students and partiers, but since opening we have found that people of all ages and demographics love using our service,” Cedillos said.
The co-owners said that what separates Nighttime items.
“Our mantra is to treat others as you would yourself, and that’s something that we push everyone on our team to think about every time they are serving a customer. Also, we carry many products that other late night de- livery businesses do not, such as wine, cigarettes and ice cream,” Cedillos said.
According to Cedillos, he and Garney are very in- volved with the day-to-day handling of the business and work to ensure convenience and timeliness for their cus- tomers.
“Maddie and I are very hands-on with our staff and business, and we make sure that everything is done in a way that meets our high standards,” Cedillos said. “Our drivers are clean, professional and safe, and they work hard to make sure your order is delivered to you as soon as possible.”
Cedillos said that one of his most unforgettable de- liveries occurred when one of his customers had a little too much fun one night.
“I had a customer who had passed out from partying too hard. I could see him from his apartment window sleeping upright, with loud music blasting. I had to call his phone and pound on his door for 10 minutes before he realized I was there with his order, and he was very surly when he woke up,” Cedillos said.
Cedillos and Garney are looking to the future with a new mobile app in the works and plans for expansion.
“First, we have a new mobile app that will be live very soon, since so many of our customers order from their mobile phones and tablets,” Cedillos said. “Lastly, we’re planning on opening new locations around the Valley, and will begin working on our franchising struc- ture.”
