Students were lined up in the MCC library, which became the temporary home of several student service departments, two weeks before the start of class. Volunteers were brought in to help the influx of students who had came in to buy books, get ID cards, speak to an adviser, and get information on financial aid.
David Staff, and MCC student, was surprised at the efficiency of the consolidated departments.
“Pretty timely – as a matter of fact – for how many people that are coming in and out of there,” he said.
Pamela Campbell, a MCC volunteer, stated that there was a fair amount of distressed students.
“Frustration, I think, is the main attitude from a lot of people that maybe don’t follow directions or read directions. No real complaints or compliments,” she said.
She also stated the main question she was asked was where financial aid was.
