Paper to plastic, textbooks go digital

Kathryn Beck

Every semester, students are faced with the issue of having to purchase textbooks for their classes.

While many choose to rent or buy new and used textbooks, others are going digital.

With the cost of textbooks constantly changing, digital forms of textbooks are becoming an alternative for students looking to save money on books.

Mesa Community College bookstore manager Sonja Ibarra says there are advantages to using
digital textbooks.

” It is more affordable than traditional textbooks and is convenient for students to use.” Ibarra
said.

Students can purchase or rent a variety of titles in digital form from the bookstore in both the fall
and spring semesters.

When renting digital textbooks, students can subscribe for 180 days allowing them to use it for the semester, but can still get a refund if needed.
