Spring break ideas for students

It’s heating up, the flowers are in bloom, and bathing suits are flying off the shelves; time to escape from Arizona’s dry heat for a week.
In a few days, students across the country will be packing their bags, leaving their morals behind and taking off to their notorious spring break destination.
Some usual spots for students going to school in Arizona include the ever-popular Rocky Point, Sonora, Mexico; San Diego, Calif.; and Las Vegas, Nev.
Student Amy Hindenlang will be taking a cruise to the beach cities of Mexico.
“We actually found a relatively cheap price for a cruise that goes to Mexico cities like Puerto Vallarta, Cabo and Mazatlan,” Hindenlang said.
“I don’t know very many people driving to Rocky Point this year, especially after the drug cartel situation that was happening last spring break,” said student Charles Stricker.
Some students prefer to kick up the dirt in the city of sin.
“My buddies and I are going to Las Vegas for the week,” Stricker said.
Some students like to change it up and head out east instead.
“Last year, we went to Rocky Point, Mexico; it was fun and everything, but this year we wanted a change,” said student Natalie Frank.
She and her friends will be flying out to Florida for the entire week.
“We heard about Panama City Beach, Fla. through a friend, who said it was voted the best spring break location in the country; there was really no more convincing at that point,” Frank said.
With all the snow that the entire country is receiving, more students could actually take part in a snow incorporated vacation, like student Tom Roby.
“I’ll be doing a triple trip; first going home to see the parents, then off to Mammoth, Calif. to shred some ‘sicky gnar gnar’ slopes and then rolling to Lake Havasu to end the party,” Roby said.
Not everyone gets to leave on vacation as some will be stuck in Arizona due to work.
“I got scheduled to work unfortunately, so I’ll be staying close to Tempe,” said student Amanda Patterson. “But I will be venturing to dirty Tucson to party with some Wildcats.”
Some students are using their spring break to celebrate birthdays.
“It’s my roommate’s birthday and he threw out the idea to go to Rocky Point, and I’ve never been. It sounded fun,” said Aaron Szenyes. “Everyone who’s been there, says it’s awesome.
