On Feb. 24, the MCC art gallery was officially opened to the general public. Many attendees, both those that were invited and the curious were present for the proceedings. The gallery currently features various examples of a iampression that included photography, as well as prints. Future plans for the gallery intend to expand the variety of work on display. Sculpture and ceramics, currently not represented, are just a few forms of art that will find a place in the space later on.
The gallery is not intended merely as a place for the populace to go and appreciate art, but provide students opportunities to learn about art, and how it can engage others.Students will also be able to learn about the methods employed to professionally care for art, and manage galleries, as they are cared for in museums. The gallery will be open for any who wish to visit, 9 a.m. – 5 p.m. Monday – Friday.
