Netbooks offer high-tech notes

Students today are taking a more technological approach when it come to their school work.
Netbooks, which are small, lightweight, portable computers, are taking over.
Although there are still many students who still use the traditional supplies such as notebooks and folders.
Sarah Kines, 19, won’t be switching to high-tech notes anytime soon.
“I am technology challenged. I know how to use Word, but it’s just easier to stick with writing in my notebook, that way I know for sure where everything is,” Kines said.
Another student, Dan Longfield, 23, said he loves his Mac but when it comes to school, he would rather just write out notes by hand.
“I would like to have a small Netbook, but I would probably not take good notes on it (because) I have games and things on there that could distract me. With paper and pencil, I won’t get distracted,” Longfield said.
As for the students keeping up with technology, Netbooks are becoming more prevalent for school work.
Latasha Newburn, 20, said she bought a Netbook to help her become more studious and to help her with homework.
“It’s nice because when I forget my USB flash drive, I still have my work on my computer and I can usually find a way to print school work out or turn it in on time,” Newburn said.
Another Netbook owner, student Katie Brun, 28, uses hers both for school and pleasure. She said she likes being able to communicate with friends and family at all times.
“I can type faster than I write, so having a Netbook is better for me. I can have it anywhere, which is great for me ,because my husband is in Iraq and I get to communicate with him more over e-mail and Skype, even when I am in class,” Brun said.
