Vote on principles, not party lines

Legend’s View

It’s election season, and with election season, as always, comes party politics.

Millions of voters will go the polls and cast their vote not for a leader they believe in, but for the party they registered for.

Democrats will vote Obama because he is the champion of the middle class, even though he is working on a trade agreement to ship millions of jobs to China.

Republicans will vote Romney because “he isn’t an educated elitist,” even though he went to the best schools and is a multi-millionaire.

Independents are always the wild card, but if the liberty lovers vote for their candiate Gary Johnson, they will be getting a man who plans on taxing the poor.

The contradictions keep adding up, and it has got to be because your average American has no clue what’s really going on.

It is laughable that so many different factions of America impress the importance of voting, but none seem to impress the importance of being informed of what you are voting for.

The news stations are all lying, telling you to vote for the candidate that they have paid off.

In a society where Facebook memes are touted as fact, I’d say it is about time to turn off the Facebook, stop listening to the talking heads and figure out the truth.

Look into candidates voting records,   find out what they did before being  elected, and just stay informed.
